Did I miss something? Is this a private course? A word to the wise, if you don't look like a wealthy retiree, be prepared to be overlooked.

I read the reviews prior to playing the course I saw some that made me think Hmmm. However I did play the course and loved it. I have only been playing a year or so. I have played a number of courses all over the southeast. I have encountered varying attitudes. But I must say if it was not such a commute (10 hours) to play this course, I would play it on a regular basis.

Clean Friendly honest and excellent course challenging but not impossible.

We stayed there and played golf last summer. Loved the place, not many people seem to know much about the place, which suits me fine. We will be back.

The entire staff pro shop, grounds maintenance, cart cleaning guys, the bar tenders, the grill staff, the restaurant staff, the hotel staff including the housekeeping staff, and I hope I did not leave anybody out, if I did I apologize. The entire staff should be the model for all businesses especially golf courses. They made my wife me and my grandson feel as important as the most important persons in the world whoever that might be.

Our best guess from this interaction is that because we did not 'look the part' we were not treated as important. We were just 7 younger guys from east TN who weren't wearing the nicest clothes and didn't all have their own set of golf clubs.

We WILL be back! Don't change a thing.

Love this golf course! It is very fun, and women can have a great time playing this course also. The lodge is quaint and comfy. The restaurant has excellent service and food. The golf shop is very limited in what you can buy, so make sure your golf bag is well stocked before you go.

Nice course. The tee boxes and fairways were a little "fuzzy."

This course is nice and what I saw of the clubhouse seemed quite nice. However, the service we received needs drastic improvement. The man who took down our tee-time and payment had a negative attitude and seemed unappreciative of our business. When asked if we wanted to play 18 or 9 holes, we asked if we could play 9 first and then, if we still wanted to play more, pay again at that time. He gruffly replied to effect of 'Well that's pretty hard to do, but I guess so....' Most of our interactions with him could have been so much better if he just smiled and improved his attitude. When we finished the front nine, he was vacuuming the carpet and continued to do so during our short conversation with him. He did address us as 'sirs,' but it was clear from his actions that he was not that interested in talking to his customers. He did however manage to say not to come back unless we all had our own golf clubs.
